Stein endorses Sestak, others

Under new leadership, the Gertrude Stein Political Club of Greater Pittsburgh has made its endorsements for the upcoming Nov. 2 election.

According to Chairperson Todd Bryner, the organization gave an unqualified and enthusiastic endorsement to Joe Sestak in the race for United States Senate.

While the organization endorses no candidate in the Pennsylvania Governor’s race, Dan Onorato did receive an honorable mention. The decision was based on the candidate’s solid recent support for countrywide LGBT protections.

For United States Congress, an endorsement went to Ed Bortz of the Green Party for the 14th District. An honorable mention went to his opponent, the incumbent Mike Doyle.

Democrat Jim Ferlo received the Club’s endorsement for the 38th District of the Pennsylvania Senate. Two other Democrats, Joe Preston (24th District) and Dan Frankel (23rd District), were endorsed for the Pennsylvania House. Both men have shown unwavering support for LGBT and women’s issues.

An endorsement also went to Jake Wheatley for Pennsylvania House 19th District.
